We earn commissions from brands listed on this site, which influences how listings are presented.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data we collect when you use Top7.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: January 1, 2026

1. Who We Are

Top7.com is an independent comparison site that researches, ranks, and reviews products and services across many categories. We’re operated as an affiliate-driven publisher — earning commissions when readers purchase through our links — at no extra cost to the reader.

If you have questions about this policy or the data we hold about you, you can reach us via the Contact page or by writing to the mailing address listed there.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate and improve the site. Specifically:

  • Information you give us: Name, email, phone (optional), and the message body you submit through our contact form.
  • Information collected automatically: Standard server log data — IP address, user-agent string, pages visited, referring URL, date/time of visit — for security, fraud prevention, and aggregate analytics.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: Small files stored on your device that remember preferences (theme, comparison cart contents) and help us measure traffic. See section 5 below.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to inquiries and feedback you send through the contact form.
  • To monitor site performance, debug issues, and improve content based on aggregate usage patterns.
  • To detect and prevent abusive behavior such as automated form submissions, brute-force attempts, or content scraping.
  • To comply with legal obligations when required.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party.

4. Affiliate Links & Earnings Disclosure

Many of the outbound links on our listing pages are affiliate links. When you click one and complete a purchase or sign-up on the partner’s site, we may receive a commission. This commission funds our research and editorial work — it does not influence our rankings or scoring rubric, and it never costs you anything extra.

Affiliate clicks are tracked by the partner network (not by us directly), using cookies set by the partner’s domain when you arrive on their site.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries:

  • Essential: WordPress session cookies (only set if you log in), and a localStorage entry that remembers items you’ve added to “Compare”.
  • Analytics: If enabled by the site operator, third-party analytics scripts (e.g. Google Analytics) may set cookies to measure aggregate visit patterns.
  • Affiliate partners: Cookies set by partner sites when you click an affiliate link, to attribute referrals.

You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, and most browsers offer an option to refuse cookies entirely. The site will continue to work with cookies disabled, though “Compare” selections will not persist between visits.

6. Third-Party Services

The site may integrate with the following third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Hosting provider — for serving the site over HTTPS.
  • Email delivery service (e.g. Brevo, SendGrid) — for delivering contact-form notifications when configured.
  • Affiliate networks — to attribute referrals from our outbound links.
  • Optional analytics tools — only when explicitly enabled by the site operator.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data or delete data we no longer need.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Opt out of the “sale” or sharing of personal information (we do not sell, but you can confirm via the link in our footer).
  • Withdraw consent for any processing that relies on it.

To exercise any of these rights, send a request through our Contact page with the subject “Privacy Request”. We’ll respond within 30 days.

8. Data Security & Retention

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards — HTTPS in transit, server-side hashing of session tokens, rate limiting on form endpoints — to protect the data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the surface area small by collecting only what we need.

Contact-form submissions are retained for as long as the message is useful for follow-up; we periodically purge older entries. Server logs are typically rotated within 30–90 days.

9. Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices, the law, or third-party services evolve. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 14 days before they take effect.
